Account Executive

kglobal, a Washington, DC-based strategic communications firm specializing in public affairs, public relations, marketing, branding, and crisis management, is seeking to hire an energetic media analyst at a high-profile federal agency. The position is with a major Department of Defense client, and you’d join the media assessment and analysis team at a public affairs office.

The successful candidate will be part of a team that assesses the client’s overall media coverage and develops strategic insights to improve messaging, evaluate campaign effectiveness, and advise on best practices in media relations.

NOTE: U.S. Citizenship REQUIRED. Also, MUST HAVE an Active Security Clearance – at least at the Secret level.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Produce qualitative and quantitative reports on major news topics and trends related to the client
• Assess and analyze traditional, broadcast and social media coverage on or about the client
• Monitor and develop new tools to track breaking news
• Distill congressional hearings, speeches and testimony into informative briefs for leadership
• Provide support to senior and executive-level staff as needed

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

• Around 5 years of experience (can be a combination of college internships and work experience)
• Bachelor’s degree
• Interest and basic understanding of social media and traditional media
• Must be able to adapt to constantly changing news cycles and competing deadlines
• Strong research, writing, and editing skills to produce concise analyses and summaries of news topics
• Excellent open-source research skills and the ability to synthesize copious amounts of data into reports and executive summaries
• Proficiency with data visualization, especially Excel and Powerpoint products
• A team-first attitude, attention to detail and the ability to think on your feet
• Experience working with the Federal Government, U.S. military, or familiarity with military terminology a plus
