Hello, I'm Mariana Lopez

Graphic Designer

Mariana’s career in graphic design began in 2007, when she stumbled across a calligraphy class at the Corcoran College of Art + Design. With the simple touch of a quill, Mariana’s love for typography and the graphic arts (which had lain dormant throughout her undergraduate study of s-curves, indexes, and outliers) was quickly rekindled, and her life was changed forevermore.

Nearly five years later, Mariana has procured significant experience in various aspects of graphic design, including corporate, identity, publication, and web design. As a freelance designer, she has produced annual reports and brochures for the likes of Pan American Health Organization and the Inter-American Development Bank, interactive books for the National Gallery of Art and youthful logos for B’nai B’rith Youth Organization.

Mariana holds a B.A. in Economics and International Development Studies from McGill University, and a (nearly complete) M.A. in Art and the Book from the Corcoran College of Art + Design. She is originally from Montevideo, Uruguay, and is fluent in English, French and Spanish. Mariana has been a D.C. native since 1990, and enjoys long walks in the park with her ridiculously smart miniature poodle, d’Artagnan.
