Deshundra Jefferson

Deshundra Jefferson is an experienced strategist and former business reporter with expertise in crisis communications and media relations.

Deshundra joined kglobal from the Democratic National Committee (DNC) where she was the Southern Regional Communications Director during the high-stakes 2016 presidential election. She was responsible for coordinating rapid response efforts in 11 states within the Southern region, including two closely-watched battlegrounds, and for leading communications efforts for the DNC’s Voter Expansion Unit. Among her most prominent bookings and placements: NBC Nightly News, MSNBC, CNN, Fox News Radio, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Miami Herald, and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Deshundra joined the DNC from the U.S. House of Representatives where she oversaw the communications efforts for two prominent members of Congress. She began her communications career as a Press Secretary on a DCCC Emerging Race during the 2012 election cycle.

Previously, Deshundra covered politics at Fox 40 Jackson, Mississippi, and was a business reporter for CNN/Money.com. Her work has also been published by The Associated Press, New York Magazine, and Black Enterprise among others.

Deshundra graduated cum laude from Columbia University with a degree in political science and is working on her masters degree at Johns Hopkins University.
