Lance Hayden is the senior creative director at kglobal and brings more than 10 years of graphic arts experience to the Digital + Design team. For Lance, creating successful campaigns for clients begins with fusing together the old and the new: He integrates his background in the traditional fine arts with today's technology demands to develop modern methods and design compelling work across a broad range of mediums.

Before joining kglobal, Lance was the art director at Spacenet, a managed networks service provider in McLean. At Spacenet, Lance designed and developed the unique visual identity for Spacenet and its subsidiaries, StarBand and SIGS. He worked closely with internal customers to construct a strong brand presence and compelling messaging in a number of vertical markets. Prior to Spacenet, Lance worked at Classic Glass, a glass studio in Alexandria, Virginia, where he helped design such installations as the historic 6th & I Street Synagogue, Georgetown University and the Newseum.

Since the inception of the cellphone industry in the United States, carriers have sold hardware to users at a loss, recouping that loss over the course of the contract by charging a premium over what the service costs the carrier. Carriers tend to make their money back over the course of 18 months, and that’s why breaking a contract before those 18 months have transpired is less than desirable for the carrier. If you wanted to buy a 32GB iPhone without a contract (an unlocked phone), you’d spend $749, not the $299 that is often advertised by the carriers.
