Laura Rector is an Account Executive at kglobal. She has a strong research background in both the federal and private sectors as well as open-source media monitoring experience that is being directly applied to work with the Office of the Chief of Public Affairs of the U.S. Army.
Prior to joining kglobal, Laura worked as a researcher on the criminal justice and rule of law team at the Global Center on Cooperative Security. She has also worked at the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START) at the University of Maryland on projects relating to domestic radicalization and international organized crime groups. She has also worked on issues concerning technology and education for Apple, Inc.
Laura graduated from The Johns Hopkins University with a bachelor’s degree in International Studies. She also completed her master’s degree in Security Policy Studies at The George Washington University with specializations in Transnational Security and Political Psychology. Laura’s graduate research projects focused on the security threats posed by non-state actors.
Before graduate school she participated in the Teaching Assistant Program in France in Burgundy. She worked with high school and technical level students to develop their English communication skills and cultural awareness in preparation for the university entrance exams.
