Timothy “TJ” Stecker has a diverse background with experience in myriad industries and settings and is part of the kglobal team supporting the U.S. Navy Chief of Information at the Pentagon.
Retiring from active duty in 2016, TJ served with the U.S. Navy where he was a successful Naval Flight Officer and Mission Commander. In 2009, while in the Navy, TJ was in a boating accident where he lost his left leg below the knee. He turned what could have been a bad situation in to an opportunity to inspire. His career included tours in Florida, Hawaii, Italy, Greece, Spain, and Djibouti where he flew numerous missions patrolling land and sea, including Operation Enduring Freedom. TJ was awarded a Navy Air Medal among many other awards.
Prior to joining the Navy, TJ managed a small “mom and pop” sporting goods store in Burlington, North Carolina. It was here that he first developed his skills in managing employees, supervising accounts, and cultivating relationships with customers.
Residing in Alexandria, Virginia, TJ is pursuing a Juris Doctor at the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in Washington D.C. and expects to graduate in May, 2018. TJ’s diverse education experience also includes a B.A. from Florida State University and an M.B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
TJ hosts a comedy/current-events podcast called the “Pragmatic Pessimists Podcast” (PPP) that can be streamed online at PragmaticPessimists.com or is available through iTunes and Stitcher. TJ hosts PPP with his brother Will and friend Gary where they weave comedic bits around discussing the ‘important’ news of the day.
