Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division Code 103

Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) is one of the nation’s premier scientific and engineering institutions, and the home for such efforts as the Electromagnetic Railgun, directed-energy weapon systems, and the Littoral Combat Ship gun module. Originally established during World War I as a munitions proving ground, the base now directly employs more than 8,000 military, civilian, and contract personnel on high tech STEM projects that contribute more than $6.5 billion to the local economy. The NSWCDD Corporate Communications Division sought assistance in revitalizing and reshaping the narrative among the base workforce, members of the local community, elected officials, program executive offices, and other Navy and DoD stakeholders.

kglobal collaborates with NSWCDD Corporate Communications to tell the Dahlgren story with original graphics, web content, photography, social media, technical articles, and human-interest stories. The team brings significant experience from DoD, media, and private sector communications to complement the existing strengths on-base and deliver measurable results in the areas that matter most.

Since beginning the contract in April 2020, the kglobal team produces content with a wide media reach. We have written dozens of articles with an audience of more than nine million readers on three of the most widely-read Navy platforms, with accolades from both the NSWCDD Commanding Officer and Technical Director. In addition, a new monthly video series and redesigned newsletter are just a taste of the ongoing creative effort to expand the audience and showcase NSWCDD.
